Yoga at Reedwood: two six-session classes running January 17th to Febrary 28th

Start your new year with Friday afternoon Yoga classes at Reedwood Friends 2901 SE Steele St. 

Fridays from January 17th to February 28th  (no class on Valentine’s Day, 2/14)

Relax into Yoga, Fridays 3:30-4:45

This gentle 75 minute class will move slowly with an emphasis on a balanced system for mind, body and emotions. Self observation and safe alignment is emphasized with a centering breath, warm up postures (asanas), standing postures, stomach and back postures, relaxation and meditation.

Flow with Yoga, Fridays 5:00-6:00 

This 60-minute yoga class integrates breathing techniques, warm-up poses, and a dynamic flow that includes standing poses, the Sun Salutation series, and balancing poses. We’ll move into the Warrior series, core-strengthening, belly and back poses. The class will close with relaxation and meditation. In this class we will breathe, relax, feel, watch and allow.

Free, with a suggested donation of $5 per session. If you are in a position to help make this available to others feel free to contribute more.

If you have your own yoga mat please bring it. There will be some extra mats available as well as other equipment provided by the instructor.

Lena Breen attributes her well-being to her long-term practice of yoga. It is yoga that keeps her physically, mentally, and emotionally balanced. Since being certified as a Kripalu yoga teacher in 2001 she has also been certified in pregnancy yoga, yoga for seniors, and yoga for children. She has taught yoga at the Mount Vernon Community College, the Starr King School for Ministry, Mount Scott Community Center and was the director and owner of her own studio in Skagit Valley, WA. Lena now lives in a multi-generational household in Woodstock. She volunteers at the neighborhood school and preaches the occasional sermon. She gardens, cooks, reads and dances whenever she gets the chance.
