Reedwood Friends Church
extends a warm welcome to you!

 
Background:

Our Quaker congregation was founded in 1893 as First Friends Meeting of Portland. We have worshipped God and served our community from our present location since 1970.

Schedule:

Sunday worship normally begins in silence at 9:20 a.m.

(Note:  Easter and Christmas services begin at 10:00 a.m.)

We have a fellowship period of coffee, tea and conversation at about 10:45 a.m.

Christian education classes for all ages begin at 11 a.m.

Refreshments downstairs in the Friendship Center at 12 noon.

Midweek programs:
During much of the year we hold programs on Wednesday evenings, including a light meal followed by classes, rehearsals and activities for adults and young people.

Summer BBQ's On Wednesday Evenings
5:30 p.m. in the play ground area behind the church. 
(Except July 29 - Northwest Yearly Meeting at George Fox University, Newberg, Oregon)
A BBQ grill will be hot and ready ... bring your own food to grill and something to share with others ...
6-pack of pop, chips, fruit, salads, favorite desserts,or try out a new recipe! 
All are welcome.

Summer Sunday Series
Hard Times --  Great God
9:30 a.m. June through September 6
11:00 a.m. The 2009 Summer CCS Series
Round table discussions focusing on immigration issues,
discipleship training for combined Latinos and Anglos and
special,
fun activities after the Education Hour (appx. Noon)
on the 1st Sunday of each summer month that may feature hikes, picnics off-site,
cooking classes,
working in the community garden (help always welcomed!)
possibly even a talent show.

Summer BBQ's on Wednesdays
5:30 p.m. every Wednesday throughout the summer!
Except July 29 - Northwest Yearly Meeting at George Fox University, Newberg, Oregon
BBQ Grill Available
Bring your own food to grill and something to share:
sidedish, snack, salad, dessert, chips, crackers, fruit, sodas, etc. 
Condiments Provided

Come to the Church Playground Area (fair weather)
or meet in the Friendship Center, basement (rainy weather).
